Another offseason quarterback move for the Denver Broncos…

Have The Denver Broncos Found Their Quarterback Of The Future?

    USATSI 22209442
Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix (10) throws a touchdown pass to wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. against the Liberty Flames in the first half during the Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Jan. 1, 2024.

The Broncos’ quarterback situation has improved substantially improved over the past 2 weeks since the selection of Oregon quarterback, Bo Nix, with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and the subsequent trade for New York Jets quarterback and former 2nd overall pick, Zach Wilson.

Joining a QB room that already held 2019 4th round pick and competent backup, Jarrett Stidham, the Broncos decided that there was no need for a 4th veteran signal caller to add competition to the room.

As such, former Dallas Cowboys 7th round pick, and popular-on-social-media-personality, Ben “Gucci” DiNucci, was rendered surplus to requirements, per Jeremy Fowler

The #Broncos have released quarterback Ben DiNucci, per source.

Ben DiNucci Cut By The Denver Broncos

Whilst this is obviously not a position that Ben DiNucci would want to find himself in, this is not the first setback the JMU alum has found himself in.

DiNucci was waived by the Cowboys in back to back years in 2021 and 2022, with the second time being for good.

He then joined the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL in 2023, leading them to an impressive 7-3 record, putting up league-high numbers in passing yards and completions; all of which ultimately lead him to getting signed by the Denver Broncos.

It seems likely that an NFL team will take a flyer on DiNucci as a 3rd or 4th reserve-type option on the 90 man training camp roster, especially as unfortunate injuries will, sadly, start to trickle in starting from OTAs beginning at the end of May.
