The Kansas City Chiefs are adding a familiar face to their roster following a trade with the New York Jets Wednesday afternoon. The Chiefs wide receiver play has been subpar to start the season. They are getting a player that should help Patrick Mahomes run the offense more smoothly for the rest of the season.
The Kansas City Chiefs traded for a wide receiver
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Chiefs are sending a 2025 sixth-round pick for Mecole Hardman and a 2025 seventh-round pick.

The Chiefs drafted Hardman in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors for the 2019 season. Hardman won the Super Bowl twice with the Chiefs. He recorded 2,088 yards receiving and 16 touchdown receptions during his four seasons in Kansas City.
Hardman signed with the Jets this offseason. He’s appeared in five games for the Jets but has only been targeted three times. Hardman caught one pass for six yards this season. He’ll likely have a much bigger role on the Chiefs.

Why? After 4 years with KC he still was unable to learn the offense let alone learn a basic route tree or catch the ball if thrown to or when returning the ball. Obviously Jets figured that out real quick as well & were more than happy to unload him back on the Chiefs along with that increased salary & cap hit and GAIN a draft pick in the deal! KC fleeced again! We could have used that roster spot & cap space for a player that could actually help the Chiefs now & down the road instead we get a player that has proven he is unable to be a WR in the NFL and a large salary cap hit along with the contract that goes with it! I get it Veach how to show he was trying but try harder there are teams willing to trade actual WR before the trade deadline that we could have used versus an empty gesture!
