Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is excited about the Jordan Love era. After having a lot of success with Aaron Rodgers, both sides decided it was time to move on. The Packers felt comfortable moving on because of the progress that Love has made. In a recent interview, LaFleur said that Love has “complete command of the offense”.
Matt LaFleur On Jordan Love
LaFleur was asked a question about how much we would see Love in the preseason. His answer seemed to indicate that we will see a lot of reps from Love.
“There’s a lot of things I’d like to see out of him. It’s more or less just the process of becoming better each and every day and the command that he has. Certainly, you want to give him every opportunity.
“You can’t give him enough reps. Just making those incremental improvements and becoming more consistent on a daily basis. I’m really excited. He definitely has complete command of our offense. There’s no doubt about it. He’s put the work in, he knows the ins and outs. Now it’s going to apply that in a real situation.”
Obviously everything is fluid but the best thing for Love right now is reps. This should help him gel with a bunch of the young players as well. Hopefully, Love playing in the preseason will prevent a week 1 letdown.
Season Rests On Love
How good this team is completely dependent on Love. While there is a lot of talent on the roster that could cover up some of Love’s deficiencies, the Packers will need to score points. The good news is the support system around him is good. While the receivers are young, they are oozing with talent. The offensive line led by David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins should give Love time to survey the field. He definitely will have his opportunities and it is on him to prove that he can be a starter in this league.
Matt LaFleur is excited about Jordan Love. A lot of the Packers’ fan base is as well. While there will be ups and downs, this will be a fun young team to watch in 2023.
