Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, which is responsible for the “ManningCast” featuring Peyton and Eli Manning, agreed to extension terms with ESPN.
ESPN reached a nine-year media-rights deal with Omaha Productions. Along with being responsible for the Emmy-winning “ManningCast,” Omaha Productions also produces content like Peyton’s Places and Eli’s Places.
The “ManningCast” on ESPN provides a new way to enjoy football
The “ManningCast” takes place during Monday Night Football games on ESPN throughout the season. Instead of a typical broadcast with a play-by-play and color commentator in the booth, the game is “commentated” by Peyton and Eli Manning.
The Manning brothers take a looser approach to the commentary aspect as a whole, but their football knowledge bleeds through, especially if they are not interviewing a guest.
Peyton Manning was known as one of the most cerebral quarterbacks in the history of the game and his ability to see the game in real time has not lost a step. While the Manning brothers are a little more loose and free to talk about whatever they want, their ability to talk football is unmatched.
When an interviewee is present, which happens three times a game, the game taking place takes a backseat to the interview. This is especially the case when the guest is more of a celebrity who lacks football knowledge. If the guest is a former or current player, the broadcast usually has a better time staying focused on what is happening on the field.
Peyton said in a USA Today article why he enjoys doing the “ManningCast.”
I’ve always loved talking football with my brother, and it was even more fun to do it while watching ESPN’s Monday Night Football,” Peyton said in a press release after ESPN agreed to add the 2024 season. “Eli and I are excited to sign on for another season, and the entire Omaha team is looking forward to producing MegaCasts that celebrate other sports.”
It is hard to question the football knowledge present on the “ManningCast”
Both Peyton and Eli Manning led historic NFL careers at the quarterback position. Both of them brought home two Super Bowls and both of them are top-10 all-time in passing yards.
Peyton is third all-time in passing yards while Eli is second all-time in passing yards. Peyton was specifically known for his cerebral style of play. He was constantly barking out audibles and adjustments based on what he saw on the defensive side of the ball. His most famous line on the field, “Omaha,” was the inspiration for the name Omaha Productions.

This video of them breaking down an interception thrown by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers displays their ability to break down complicated parts of the game.

Many fans are excited about nine more years of the “ManningCast”
After it was announced that Omaha Productions reached a deal with ESPN that would last through 2034, many fans took to social media to express their feelings about the extension.
The Manning brothers, typically fan favorites, provided a fresh take on the watching of live football games. Whether that version of watching a game is for everyone doesn’t take away from the fact that it is offering something fresh and different.
Many fans think the “ManningCast” is far superior to watching games the traditional way, and they can’t wait to see nine more years of the Manning brothers on Monday Night Football.
I enjoy the Manning cast a lot more than the regular commentary.
Their casual knowledge is amazing in how they’re seeing and calling plays.
And they’re funny.
I don’t understand why they’re getting hate. They’re what’s RIGHT about the NFL right now.

Love the Manningcast but there was always that part of me that hoped Peyton would go to the booth.
…I’m over it!

It will be interesting to see if the format of the show will go through any changes over the next nine years. The show has only been around for a few years and it started when COVID concerns were much higher. The Zoom call format is not as necessary as it was in 2021.
The laid-back style also contributes to a lot of scenarios in which the Manning brothers have to abruptly cut to a commercial, cutting off a guest or even themselves. Given they are not traditional journalists, the Manning brothers still have some work to do when it comes to navigating a live television broadcast.
