Roy will be in a position to have a breakout year for the Tigers on the defensive front seven. The talented defensive tackle has appeared in 24 games during his two years at LSU. During his career, Roy has racked up 48 career tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
In his freshman season in 2020, Roy saw limited action on the Tiger defense as he appeared in nine games, but none of them were for starts. His best game in 2020 came against Florida where he picked up two sacks.
The story was the same for Roy going into his sophomore season as he appeared in 13 games for LSU and his lone start came in the bowl game against Kansas State. In 2021, Roy finished his season with 30 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
The Outland Trophy is awarded to the best college football interior lineman. The last LSU player to take home the honors was Glenn Dorsey in 2007. Dorsey racked up 69 tackles, seven sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss.
