Van Jefferson’s Career With The Los Angeles Rams
Van Jefferson was expected to seek a trade this week after his agent spoke with the team to get permission. The receiver played a crucial part in the 2021 season when Los Angeles made their Super Bowl run. However, he has been on the sidelines most of this year after the resurgence of Cooper Kupp and the breakout of rookie receiver Puka Nacua. In their most recent game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Jefferson only got two snaps.
Jefferson went to the Rams in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. Over his young career, the receiver has amounted to 101 catches for 1,499 yards and 10 touchdowns. He certainly has the potential to be a formidable force in the league standing at six foot one and 200 pounds.
What The Trade Means For Atlanta
The Atlanta Falcons cashed in on this trade as soon as Jefferson became available. Atlanta needed a stud in their receiving corps, and they are hoping to get the 2021 version of Van Jefferson once he begins playing again.
It will be interesting to see if the receiver can get back to his best form or even better now that he will most likely see much more of the field with the Falcons. As for Los Angeles, they should hope that Kupp and Nacua remain healthy now that their receiver depth is starting to thin out.
