Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett announced who would be the starting quarterback for the team in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans.
Pickett suffered a rib injury during the Steelers’ loss to the Jackson Jaguars in Week 8. Head coach Mike Tomlin said on Monday that Pickett would need to show he is capable of practice Wednesday before the Steelers would decide to start the second-year quarterback.
The Pittsburgh Steelers make a decision at QB for Thursday
According to Brooke Pryor with ESPN, Pickett said he will definitely play against the Titans on Thursday night.

That is an interesting decision for Pickett and the Steelers this week. The Steelers should think about letting Pickett rest this week in order to keep him healthy for the long haul. With the Steelers game this week being on Thursday night, a short turnaround seems risky for Pickett.
The 4-3 Steelers must feel Pickett, coming off the injury, gives them a better chance to beat the 3-4 Titans than Mitch Trubisky. While Pickett’s long-term health is a concern, this game feels like a must-win game for the Steelers’ playoff ambitions.
