The conversation surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs parade for winning the Super Bowl took an ugly turn on Wednesday afternoon following a deadly shooting. One person died, and multiple others were injured during the parade.
There were a few conspiracies surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs were the subject of much rumor and speculation before the Super Bowl. Many conservative voices thought the NFL and government were propping the Chiefs up so tight end Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, could endorse President Joe Biden for the election in November.
Warning for Taylor Swift before Kansas City Chiefs parade
Local public officials did not publicly state any known threats to Swift or Kelce before the parade. However, per Robin Adams with GH, conflicting reports came out from Kansas City officials regarding their worry about Swift’s safety at the parade:
According to an interview with Kansas City’s city manager Brian Platt on NPR Kansas City, fans should not expect Swift to be at the Super Bowl parade on Wednesday. He specifically asked her not come:
“I can’t confirm or deny but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us,”
Kansas City’s mayor, however, is refuting that statement:
“Not true at all. We’re enchanted to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep all safe. We’ll have a great championship celebration for our Chiefs!”
Fans talk about gun control following the deadly shooting
Conspiracy’s began to fly on social media pretty immediately following reports of the shooting. Many voices in Kansas City and sports figures started talking about mass shootings being a problem in the US. Others went as far as to advocate for more gun control.
Conservative and pro-second Amendment voices fired back at the talk of gun control following the shooting. Some went as far as to say the Chiefs’ parade was a “false flag” operation for gun control.
So yes, if you connect the dots, we’ve gone from a conspiracy where the NFL and government wanted Swift to endorse Biden to a conspiracy where the plan was actually about Swift advocating for guns. And the rhetoric comes days after former President Donald Trump suggested Kelce is a liberal.
Here’s a sample of what should have been a fun celebration suddenly turning into a deadly event where all people can discuss is conspiracy and gun control.

QAnon is here to reassure us that the shooting at the Chiefs victory parade is a false flag to allow Taylor Swift to not only endorse Joe Biden, but to lobby for gun control to protect her mRNA infused boyfriend from danger. pic.twitter.com/S7GuVOFyCQ

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords: “In Kansas City today, a celebration has turned into a nightmare—again. Americans should not have to live in constant fear of gun violence: not a Super Bowl victory parade, or anywhere else. As we mark six years since the mass shooting in…

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will call for gun control in 3….2….1….
P.S.
Guns aren't the concern. It's the people with criminal backgrounds or mental illnesses that are the major issue.

Given the amount of current ESPN coverage calling for gun control, I’m smelling false flag.

is gun control going to completely eliminate all gun violence? definitely not! but that isn't the bar for literally any other type of legislation. you enact laws for harm reduction. you enact laws to make the world better and safer, even if just marginally. DO. SOMETHING.
