Kansas City Chiefs: Taylor Swift Apparently Banned from Attending Super Bowl 58 Parade

The Kansas City Chiefs will have a parade to celebrate their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII today. The celebration is expected to draw thousands of fans who want to help Chiefs players celebrate the city’s third Super Bowl victory in the last five seasons. In order to maintain control of the crowd, though, the city of Kansas City took a drastic step.

As many are aware, Chiefs tight end is dating pop-star Taylor Swift. Over the course of the NFL season, Swift’s presence at Chiefs games, both home and away, drew bigger crowds and helped the league rake in an extra $331 million. It also increased viewership among women and teenagers.

Concerned that Swift’s possible presence may draw a larger crowd than the city is prepared to deal with on Wednesday, which also happens to be Valentine’s Day, Kansas City’s city manager apparently asked Swift’s team that she not show up.

Taylor Swift Has Reportedly Been Asked Not to Come to the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Parade

According to an interview with Kansas City’s city manager Brian Platt on NPR Kansas City, fans should not expect Swift to be at the Super Bowl parade on Wednesday. He specifically asked her not come:

“I can’t confirm or deny but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us,”

Kansas City’s mayor, however, is refuting that statement:

“Not true at all. We’re enchanted to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep all safe. We’ll have a great championship celebration for our Chiefs!”

The Hype Around Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Has Been Intense

While Swift should be able to attend the parade if she wants to, it is easy to see where her presence could be a security concern for the city. Travis Kelce himself had to move out of his own home after he started getting harassed by crazed fans when his relationship with Swift became public knowledge.

Swift’s own security team reportedly kept other suite holders at the Super Bowl from roaming around that level of the stadium in an effort to keep her safe. It may not be out of the question that her own team does not want her at the parade, which is far from a structured setting.

In any case, we have one city official saying that Swift may have been asked not to come, and another saying that the official is lying.

Sounds like typical political talk, but the mayor may have just boosted his approval rating among Kansas City Swifties.

She wasnt there and there was a shooting and someone died …plus 20+ hurt….I’d say this story regardless if she was told not to attend, which she’s performing in Australia on the 16th so my guess is she was not planning to attend anyways as getting cleared thru customs in Australia is pretty intense and time consuming so maybe we pay more attention to the team and less on TS. This is about them and any attempt at taking their spotlight away to focus on Taylor is disrespectful

If they would have come out and said she would not be there. Maybe a lot of those young girls wouldn’t have gone. Including the ones who got shot. Just mayor trying to get as many people there he could.
