The Kansas City Chiefs took down the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game to advance to the Super Bowl. While the team had a great performance on both sides of the ball, they also suffered some key injuries in the game. One of the team’s star players was ruled out for the rest of the game after getting injured in the first half, and his availability for the big game may be in jeopardy.
Kansas City Chiefs Star Player Injured
Chiefs star defensive end Charles Omenihu went to the locker room late in the first half with a knee injury and was ruled out for the rest of the game early in the third quarter. Omenihu was able to record the only sack in the second quarter and stripped Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson while doing so. However, the star defensive end did not make any more impact on the game as he did not return.

Chalres Omenihu Career
Omenihu has amounted to 28 tackles, two forced fumbles, and seven sacks in 2023 including the postseason, and has been a great addition to the Chiefs pass rush. He was drafted in 2019 by the Houston Texans, where he played for three years until heading to the San Francisco 49ers from 2021-2022, and is in his first season with Kansas City. He has gone for 95 total tackles and 18.5 sacks throughout his five-year career and has already made a big impact on the Chiefs’ defense.
Will Omenihu Play In The Super Bowl?
With Kansas City going to their fourth Super Bowl in five years, the pressure is now on the team to win it all and cement themselves as the next dynasty in the NFL. However, the team still has to worry about key injuries heading into the game, including the one to Omenihu. Will the defensive end be able to play in the big game, or will his injury be more serious, preventing him from participating in the Super Bowl?
