Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury midway through the 2023 season.
Burrow, who could barely hold onto the football immediately following the injury, endured a great deal of speculation about the future of his career since the injury occurred.
Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s injury was quickly declared season-ending
In the week following his exit from the Thursday Night Football matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, Joe Burrow’s wrist injury was declared season-ending.
It is believed Burrow sustained the injury when he was sacked by Ravens pass rusher Jadaveon Clowney. He stayed in the game for a short period of time before being replaced by backup quarterback Jake Browning, who would continue to fill his spot for the rest of the year.
The play Burrow reportedly aggravated his wrist on.

The team says Joe Burrow’s injury happened after getting tackled by Jadeveon Clowney. Burrow managed to throw a TD despite of that before leaving.

An “NFL Insider” claimed that a source said Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s wrist would never be the same
John Frascella, who considered himself an NFL insider, said that a source told him that Joe Burrow’s wrist would “never be the same.”
BREAKING:
Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s wrist will “NEVER be the same,” per discussion with my Cincinnati source this morning.
“Joe’s surgery in LA was not to fix his injury, but to make sure the bone grows correctly. Joe will always be at risk of injury because his bone has to… pic.twitter.com/HRAU6bzA0O

Frascella, who claims he was directly quoting a source, quoted his source as saying that Burrow’s surgery took place in Los Angeles, Calif. and that Burrow’s injury involved his bone.
According to USA Today and Enquirer Bengals beat reporter Kelsey Conway, Burrow’s surgery was done by world-renowned hand surgeon Dr. Tom Graham in Pennsylvania, and the injury that occurred only affected the ligament in his wrist/hand.

Looks like none of this was true. I’m sad you have such bad “sources”, and I’m sad for you getting your hopes up that this was true.

Clips of Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow throwing are now being used to prove John Frascella wrong
Now that Burrow is back on the practice field outside of Paycor Stadium, clips of him throwing the ball at what seems to be 100% are going viral.
Frascella is not the only one to claim that Burrow would never be the same after his wrist injury. As a result, clips of him throwing deep balls and bullet passes have gone viral as Benglas fans are claiming that Burrow is back to what he was before the injury.

Burrow and the Bengals will look to return to the NFL playoffs in 2024 after just missing the cut in 2023. After a Super Bowl appearance and an AFC Championship Game appearance in back-to-back years before 2023, the Bengals with a healthy Burrow have high expectations.
