President Joe Biden sent a message to NFL fans ahead of the Super Bowl. Some people didn’t care for what Biden had to say about the economy ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Joe Biden blames corporations for inflation
Biden refused to have a sit-down interview on CBS before the game. However, Biden took X to post his message about how corporate greed is hurting private citizens:
“It’s Super Bowl Sunday. If you’re anything like me, you like to be surrounded by a snack or two while watching the big game,” Biden said. “You know, when buying snacks for the game, you might’ve noticed one thing, sports drinks bottles are smaller, bag of chips has fewer chips, but they’re still charging us just as much.”
As an ice cream lover, what makes me the most angry is that ice cream cartons have actually shrunk in size, but not in price. I’ve had enough of what they call ‘shrinkflation.’ It’s a rip-off. Some companies are trying to pull a fast one by shrinking their products little by little and hoping you won’t notice. Give me a break.”
The American public is tired of getting played for suckers. I’m calling on companies to put a stop to this. Let’s make sure businesses do the right thing now.”
While you were Super Bowl shopping, did you notice smaller-than-usual products where the price stays the same?
Folks are calling it Shrinkflation and it means companies are giving you less for every dollar you spend.
I’m calling on the big consumer brands to put a stop to it. pic.twitter.com/wL1NsEh78F

NFL fans react to President Joe Biden’s message
Inflation has been a killer to many American families over the previous few years. Per was up higher in January than the government expected:
New York Times, inflationInflation cooled less than expected in January and showed worrying staying power after volatile food and fuel costs were stripped out — a reminder that bringing price increases under control remains a fraught, bumpy process.
The overall Consumer Price Index was up 3.1 percent from a year earlier, which was down from 3.4 percent in December but more than the 2.9 percent that economists had forecast. That figure is down from the latest peak of 9.1 percent in the summer of 2022.
Many Americans blame the Biden administration for not doing enough to curb inflation. Others think corporate greed is the primary driver of high prices. Here are the best takes of NFL fans reacting to Biden’s message on shrinkflation.
thanks that’ll save me 4-5 dollars a month that puts a massive dent in my $300/month rent increase

Then you should reduce the size of Washington so the dollar’s purchasing power is restored & consumer goods become more affordable. But that means less power for your cronies and we know you’ll always pick them over us.

We’ve all noticed corporations are greedy and don’t pay their fair share of taxes.

Republicans want to put the blame on you, Mr President. Why? Because they don’t want the public to know that it’s their corporate donors who are price gouging them.
