Denver Broncos wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton could be on the move sooner rather than later. A recent report suggested that the receiving tandem could be at the center of trade talks as the Broncos lose games.
Report: Some NFL teams believe that the #Broncos will listen to trade offers for WRs Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, as well as players on defense, per ESPN.
The report adds "Nobody's trading for Russell Wilson's contract."
The report also says that Denver is not interested… https://t.co/VXYnqWmQ1h pic.twitter.com/ytk1x1JQWe

Jeudy and Sutton, as well as players on defense, may become available in trade talks as early as this week. However, despite a slow 1-4 start and a potential rebuild imminent, the Broncos will hold onto star corner Pat Surtain. Surtain has quickly become one of the best lockdown corners in the NFL despite being just 23 years old. The former ninth-overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft was an All-Pro member in 2022.
Meanwhile, quarterback Russell Wilson is likely unavailable due to his hefty contract. Wilson signed a five-year, $430 million contract with the Broncos in 2022. However, after an abysmal first season in Denver, the one-time Super Bowl champion has played well this season. Wilson has thrown for 1,210 yards and 11 touchdowns against two picks across his team’s first five games.
Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton: Trade Outlook
Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton would immediately elevate any receiving cores in the NFL. Jeudy has 208 yards receiving and no scores on 17 receptions. His best season came last year, when he posted career-highs in receptions (67), receiving yards (972), and receiving touchdowns (six). The former first-round pick has one year remaining in his rookie contract. He becomes a free agent in 2025.
Meanwhile, Sutton is halfway through his four-year, $61 million contract that he signed in 2021. The former second-round pick has 21 receptions for 229 yards and three touchdowns in five games this season. Sutton was a Pro Bowl receiver in 2019, snagging 72 catches for 1,112 yards and six scores.
Next Man Up in Denver
The departure of Jeudy and Sutton would leave the Denver receiving core shorthanded. However, it would open up playing time for rookie Marvin Mims and second-year wideout Brandon Johnson. Mims, a second-round pick from Oklahoma, has already flashed his big play ability in 2023. Mims averages an NFL-best 24.6 yards per reception. Meanwhile, Johnson has eight receptions for 122 yards and three touchdowns on 11 targets.
