Imagine being a Browns fan. And if you are a fan of Cleveland, you must be feeling some awful emotions. In week two, Cleveland faced the New York Jets, and this is one of the most heartbreaking losses in recent memory.
Everything Was Going Well for the Browns
The first three quarters were absolutely great for Cleveland. Brissett was making solid passes, and Nick Chubb started to get into rhythm. He even had this nice running touchdown.

Everything seemed like it was going well for Cleveland, but the fourth quarter just brought them back to reality.
The Jets Snatch Victory From the Jaws of Defeat
In the fourth quarter, the Browns got a touchdown to put them up by 13, and then Cade York came out for the extra point. And the rookie missed it. The Jets had about two minutes to make something happen, and they get this gift from the Browns.

Now, the Browns are facing a situation that still feels safe. All they have to do is recover the onside kick, and the game is over. But, that just does not happen.

Now, Cleveland has to step up on defense. They get some good plays in, and Myles Garret almost gets his second sack of the game, which would have made him the Browns’ franchise sack leader. But, Joe Flacco threw the ball away just in time.
And then, it happens.

Greg Zuerlein went on to make the extra point to put New York up by a score of 31-30.
The Browns have one last chance with 22 seconds left with one timeout. Brissett takes off on the first play of the drive and gets a good amount of yards. And now, Brissett goes to the air to try to give Cade York a chance.
And then, safety Ashtyn Davis intercepts Brissett to put it away.

How Does This Happen?
This could be one of the biggest collapses the Browns have had in a while. But the thing is that Cleveland has a tendency to do this. They are historically bad at closing football games. They almost did it against the Panthers in week one, but Cade York ended up saving them.
If Cleveland wants to have a chance at competing this year, this cannot keep happening. This should wake up the Cleveland Browns, but we’ll just have to see if they can make the changes they need to.
