The agent for Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs released a statement on Wednesday afternoon responding to allegations against his client that surfaced Wednesday. Per Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Buggs’ agent is claiming the City of Tuscaloosa is trying to force him to close a business and the police have arrested Buggs twice in the previous two months.

As previously discussed on GH, civil documents were filed in a Tuscaloosa court alleging animal cruelty against Biggs.
Per Ryan Phillips of Tuscaloosa Patch, Biggs, a former Alabama football standout, is being accused of animal cruelty per civil documents filed in a Tuscaloosa court. Biggs is expected to face misdemeanor criminal charges related to the case relating to the alleged treatment of two dogs being left on the back porch of a residence.
Per the report, police found the dogs in poor condition:
The petition goes on to say that when TPD and the City of Tuscaloosa’s Animal Control officers arrived, they found a grey and white pitbull on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces, with no access to food or water.
What’s more, those responding reported finding a black Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water.
The petition said the dogs were seized on March 28 due to both being severely “malnourished, emaciated and neglected.”
Per the report, “witnesses” claimed Buggs moved out of the residence where the dogs were later found on March 19.

Per a post on X by Pelissero, Buggs’ agent, Trey Robinson, released a statement on the alleged claims:
“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today. Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.”
Robinson claims the City of Tuscaloosa filed the charges as a part of their effort to force Buggs to close a hookah lounge:
Furthermore, we believe the City of Tuscaloosa’s decision to file the charges today is part of a concerted effort by the City of Tuscaloosa and its Police Department to besmirch Mr. Buggs’ name and reputation as part of an on-going subversive campaign to force the close of his local business Kings Hookah Lounge.
Agent wrote Isaiah Buggs has been arrested twice in two months

Robinson claims Buggs has been arrested two times in the previous two months, but the police have not made a public record of the arrests:
These efforts are not new as Mr. Buggs was arrested at his business on misdemeanor charges on two separate occasions in the past two months, but each time no public record was made of these arrests. Rather, the City used the threat of pursuing and publicizing both the allegations filed today and these arrests as leverage against Mr. Buggs by offering to drop and not pursue them in exchange for his voluntary surrender of his business license.
Mr. Buggs declined the City’s offer as he has serious concerns about the City’s and Police Department’s motivation for deciding to target his business, which he plans to bring to light as part of his defense of the allegations and charges filed against him and his reputation and business.
This case is yet another distraction in a busy offseason off-the-field for the Chiefs.
