The New York Giants drafted wide receiver Jalin Hyatt in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Tennessee. Hyatt last season with the Giants caught 23 passes for 373 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. He averaged 16.2 yards per catch and was targeted 40 times.
Jalin Hyatt hopes to reach the end zone in his second NFL season. He was dealing with different quarterbacks throughout the 2023 season. Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor, and Tommy DeVito were the quarterbacks for the Giants a season ago. They were looking to maybe draft a quarterback in 2024, but they decided to take Malik Nabers sixth overall instead.
Nabers is going to add a different element to New York’s offense this season. He is going to be one of the starting wide receivers on the Giants. Wan’Dale Robinson will also be one of the starting wide receivers on the roster. It will be interesting to see who else will join them after that.
New York Giants Wide Receiver Jalin Hyatt Was Making Plays On Friday In Camp
Nabers and Robinson have been making plays for the Giants in training camp already. On Friday, New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was starting to make plays in camp. This is one of the videos of him catching a deep pass from quarterback Daniel Jones:

For now, Hyatt is projected to be with the second unit at wide receiver. However, there has not been much noise in camp for Darius Slayton yet. Slayton led the team last season in receiving yards with 770. He is entering the final year of his contract. It is quite possible that general manager Joe Schoen may not re-sign him after this season. Slayton could be traded before then as well.
Jalin Hyatt has a lot of talent and he is only 22 years old. The plan at some point this season for the Giants is to go with Hyatt, Malik Nabers, and Wan’Dale Robinson. It would not be a surprise to see this as the receiving core for the Week 1 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants had one of the worst offenses a season ago. For now, Darius Slayton is projected to be one of the starters, but they probably want Hyatt to be a starter.
