The Miami Dolphins made headlines today with perhaps the most notable contract extension of the offseason. As reported by Jordan Sigler of Gridiron Heroics, the Dolphins and Tagovailoa agreed to an extension worth $212.4 million over four years.
It is safe to say Tagovailoa is satisfied with this contract extension. However, he is not the only Dolphins player excited about it. Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill showed his enthusiasm shortly after Tua’s contract extension was announced.
Tyreek Hill Appears Very Excited About Tua Tagovailoa’s Contract Extension
As mentioned above, Jordan Sigler and several other NFL insiders announced that Tua Tagovailoa will receive a massive contract extension from the Miami Dolphins. Well, it only took about 12 minutes after those insiders went public with this news for Tyreek Hill to weigh in.
Hill kept his message on social media short and sweet. He simply tweeted this grinning emoji shortly after Tua’s contract was announced. It is safe to say the star wide receiver appears excited to have his quarterback locked in for the remainder of his contract.
Possible Tyreek Hill Contract Extension?
Tyreek Hill has seen two of his most notable teammates get massive contract extensions this offseason. The latest one happened to be Tua Tagovailoa. However, young WR Jaylen Waddle also received a massive contract extension earlier this offseason. His contract extension is worth nearly $85 million over three years.
Will Tyreek Hill join his teammates in getting a raise? Truthfully, his current contract does not favor this. Back in 2022, Hill signed a 4-year contract extension with the Dolphins worth $120 million shortly after he was traded there from Kansas City.
Hill is still owed a good portion of that contract. However, partially due to the major increase in salary cap space this offseason, his contract is quickly appearing outdated. Waddle now nearly matches Hill’s annual salary and other star wide receivers such as Justin Jefferson have surpassed his salary.
Loyal to Miami Dolphins
Despite Hill’s contract situation, it is hard to question his loyalty to the Miami Dolphins. The tweet mentioned above should be an indicator that he is genuinely happy for his teammates.
On top of this, a report came out a few days ago revealing that Hill told his agent not to pull anything that would end with him getting traded from the team. It is safe to say Hill wants to be a Dolphin whether a new contract gets worked out or not.
