After a disappointing run in 2022, the Houston Texans surprised everyone last season when they went deep in the playoffs. Of course, for the team to replicate or even surpass that feat, they may have to look at Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard.
Thanks to the selection of C.J. Stroud, the Texans were able to revamp their game and become relevant in the NFL. Houston finished the regular season with a 10-7 record, putting the team in the top spot of the AFC South division.
In the playoffs, the Texans were able to destroy the Cleveland Browns with a score of 45-14. This massive win turned a lot of eyes toward the team, especially their offense and defense, which was ranked in the upper half of the NFL.
Unfortunately, the Texans fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the following round. In order to maximize Stroud’s talent, Houston will have to look hard at Henry and what the Dallas Cowboys star can bring to the table.
Why The Houston Texans Must Sign Dallas Cowboys’ Tony Pollard In Free Agency
Giving Stroud a lot of weapons at his disposal will definitely elevate the Texans to another level. In this regard, Aaron Schatz of ESPN explained why Henry would be a good fit for the team:
“The best fit would be a “lightning” to go with Pierce’s “thunder.” That’s why I suggest Pollard, who is more of a light and agile receiving back than players such as Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs. Pollard struggled in 2023 but was excellent as a committee back in 2022, ranking fourth in receiving value among running backs that season,” Schatz wrote.
Having Pollard on the team may help unlock Stroud. If placed in the right situation, the running back may even find another gear to raise his overall game.
Free agency is just a couple of days away. By then, everyone will know whether Henry will end up wearing a Texans uniform or not.
