Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud declared for the NFL Draft on Monday. Stroud, the Buckeyes’ second all-time leader in career passing yards (8,123) and passing touchdowns (85) was clearly torn on his decision. He waited until the last possible day to declare for the draft and it’s obvious that it was no easy decision for him. It is nice that he did one last thing to show his love for Ohio State and Buckeye Nation.

The Buckeye signal caller led the nation in 2022 with a 125.0 quarterback rating. He’s likely going to be a top five draft pick this spring and rightly so as he was one of the top college quarterbacks in the last two seasons. It had seemed a forgone conclusion that he would declare after the Peach Bowl, but he used all of his allotted time to make his decision. In the spring he will likely be the third Buckeye quarterback drafted in the first round in five years.
From a grateful school, program, fan base, and state; Thank you, C.J.!
