The Houston Texans had a 2023-24 NFL season to remember. After having the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Texans won the AFC South the very next season. Now, rookie QB C.J. Stroud is being recognized for leading Houston to this point.
Fans Vote C.J. Stroud Rookie of the Year
NFL fans awarded Texans QB C.J. Stroud the Rookie of the Year. This was a very competitive class that included talent such as Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta and Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua. So, what did Stroud do to deserve this recognition from the fans?
Well, Stroud had 4,108 passing yards, 23 touchdown passes, and just five interceptions. On top of this, he led the Texans to a playoff victory over the Cleveland Browns. Stroud made NFL rookie playoff history by doing so.
Houston Texans Moving Forward
The Texans have a bright future ahead of them. Stroud is still on his rookie contract and along with rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans appears to just be getting started. They face tough competition in the rest of the AFC South, with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts finishing right behind the Texans this season.
