The Green Bay Packers season has been a trainwreck so far. However, the team is in a rebuilding year with Jordan Love taking over a very young roster. GM Brian Gutekunst decided it was time to gather more assets for the rebuild. The team sent Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills for draft compensation.
Green Bay Packers Rasul Douglas Traded To Buffalo Bills
The Packers are sending a fifth-round pick with Douglas and receiving a third-round pick back. Buffalo needed help on the defensive side of the football after Tre’Davious White and Matt Milano went down with injuries. Now, they get a corner who is having a solid year to help them in their playoff push. For the Packers, it is collecting more draft capital for the future. It is hopefully a win-win for each side. The Bills get depth at a premium position and the Packers get draft capital to help in a rebuild.
Grim At Corner For The Packers
Eric Stokes is on the IR currently and Jaire Alexander hasn’t been playing well likely due to a back injury. It gets pretty thin after that. Keisean Nixon remains though he will most likely stay in the nickel spot. That leaves seventh-round rookie Carrington Valentine and anyone else they sign. The good news for the Packers is they now own five of the top 90 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. The team needs to find cheap talent and the draft is the best place to do that.
The Packers had some great moments with Rasul Douglas. Hopefully, he can help the Bills reach the much-needed Super Bowl berth.
