The Green Bay Packers have been working on a contract extension for their star quarterback, Jordan Love, for quite some time. So long have the two sides been working on it that many believed that it would have been done and signed by now. After all, both Love and the Packers expressed their desire for it to be done by the time that training camp began.

However, a deal has not been agreed upon despite training camp having started on Monday. Love informed the Packers that he will not participate in any practices until they have come to a contract agreement. At this point, there are mixed reports of when a deal might get done to go with plenty of anxious Packers fans.

Green Bay Packers Fans React to the Miami Dolphins Extending Tua Tagovailoa

Earlier today, it was reported that the Miami Dolphins had agreed to a massive contract extension with their franchise quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. Like Love, Tagovailoa was drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The contract signed between the Dolphins and their star quarterback is for four years and $212.4 million. Tagovailoa is now the third-highest paid quarterback in the NFL behind Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow.

Packers fans took to social media to react to his extension and to speculate about what Love might make:

You’re telling me Tua is worth more than Goff, Hurts, etc???

Dude hasn’t even made a conference title game, while some of these guys have.

Trevor is justified to be paid more than Tua… but man.

Imagine what Jordan Love will get.. and then Dak…

    This is getting insane#NFL

Jordan Love has done more to deserve a big money contract than Tua 🤷🏻‍♂️

NFL Insider Adam Schefter Has a Bold Prediction for Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love’s Next Contract

    Green Bay Packers, Jordan Love
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) leaves the field after losing to the San Francisco 49ers during their NFC divisional playoff football game Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

After the news broke that the Dolphins and Tua had agreed to their deal, Adam Schefter gave a report that stated that Jordan Love will soon become the richest player in Packers’ history:

During his segment, Schefter acknowledged that it did seem like Love and the Packers were closer to an agreement than Tua and Dolphins.

He did state, though, that both parties are pretty motivated to get a deal done. He concluded with, “I still think that at some point, sooner rather than later, the two sides will figure out a way to get it done and make Jordan Love the richest player in Green Bay Packers franchise history.”

They have been close to a deal for a while now, so the NFL world is now waiting with even more anticipation now that another high-profile extension is done.
