Brock Bowers, an All-American for the two-time defending champion #1 Georgie Bulldogs, suffered an ankle injury in the first half of Saturday’s game. Now, he’s reportedly receiving TightRope surgery that will keep him out of action for four to six weeks. Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie, and Pearce Spurlin III are the tight ends tasked with filling the void.

What’s Next for Georgia Without Brock Bowers
Bowers should fully recover, but it won’t happen overnight. So, Georgia’s quest for a third straight national title will continue without their leading receiver. They have a bye this weekend, before facing the rival Florida Gators on a neutral site, #20 Missouri at home, and #13 Ole Miss in Athens. Those are three rough games to play without a key piece of the offense.
After that, Georgia travels to #17 Tennessee, the earliest that Bowers may return. If not then, it’ll be Georgia Tech, a potential SEC Championship Game, or a bowl game. The Bulldogs managed to win it all without George Pickens for most of 2021 and Adonai Mitchell throughout most of 2022, so there’s precedent for Georgia to still succeed. Still, it’s a lot easier to win when Bowers is playing.
