Despite a transition at offensive coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had MVP expectations in 2023. However, the switch from Shane Steichen to Brian Johnson proved catastrophic for the signal-caller, with Hurts regressing mightily as a passer. After a stellar 22 passing touchdowns to six picks in 2022, Hurts tossed a career-worst 15 interceptions with 23 touchdowns in 2023. Hurts’ struggles were well documented, with the team getting blown out 32-9 in the postseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, despite his poor passing numbers, the Oklahoma product rushed for 15 touchdowns and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl. He competed in the Pro Bowl’s Precision Passing challenge last night, but unfortunately for Hurts, he struggled with accuracy.

NFL Fans React to Hurts’ Precision Passing Performance
Hurts struggled heavily in the Precision Passing challenge last night at the Pro Bowl games, leaving him open to significant criticism by NFL fans. Hurts finished last in the NFC behind Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and Seattle’s Geno Smith.

This comes as a shock to nobody but here it is. Micah Parsons, an edge rusher, is a better QB than Jalen Hurts. #Cowboys #Eagles pic.twitter.com/B9YbLgX4G7

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts: Eyeing Rebound Season
Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles did not make a return to the Super Bowl after a devastating blowout loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Super Wild Card Weekend. They entered the postseason as losers of five of their last six, including back-to-back defeats at the hands of the lowly Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants.
Hurts finished the season with an 89.1 rating, a double-digit drop-off from the year prior. The gunslinger nearly tripled his interception output while seeing a massive dip in yards per attempt. From December on, the former CFP title winner threw just six touchdowns to five interceptions. He also struggled with rushing efficiency. The two-time Pro-Bowler will enter next season with his third offensive coordinator in as many years. The Eagles parted ways with play-caller Brian Johnson late last month. In a follow-up move, Philadelphia hired Kellen Moore to become the team’s newest OC. He has called plays for both the Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys.
