The Chicago Bears have done something not done since – well, just two years ago by the Jacksonville Jaguars – and secured the first overall pick in the NFL Draft for the second consecutive year.
However, unlike Jacksonville, who were straight-up bad for two years, the Bears are actually playing not-terribly in the second half of the season, after the acquisition of Montez Sweat, so much so that head coach, Matt Eberflus, may well get an unlikely third year as head coach in Chicago.
Instead, the Bears managed to acquire the Carolina Panthers’ future first round pick from last year, where they moved up for uninspiring quarterback, Bryce Young – which, after a really dreadful season, especially on offense, has turned into the first overall pick, fortuitously, after the Panthers’ 14th loss of the season, at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
So now, of course, people are reacting to the confirmation that the Chicago Bears will possess the first over all pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Some fans are strictly concerning themselves with future potential star picks.

If Chicago Bears nation is to be heeded, it seems like this may in fact be a reality, as the majority of Bears fans actually want (for some reason) Justin Fields to return as starting QB in 2024.
Others have devised intricate lines of reasoning as to why, in fact, this would be a bad idea.
Why MHJ at #1 is stupid:
• The value of the 1st overall pick in this years draft is likely 3 first and MORE
• There are QBs worth that value, not many but they exist
• There is not a single WR worth that value, or even close
• The Bears have holes at both QB and WR and…

Yet, without the first overall pick, the Chicago Bears would not be guaranteed the hot commodity that is Marvin Harrison Jr., who is widely considered to be the best footballing talent (regardless of position) in the 2024 NFL Draft.
And, finally, others were just celebrating what has, in hindsight, looked like an excellent trade from GM Ryan Poles, with the Carolina Panthers.
