The Green Bay Packers suddenly have a couple of major woes in the defensive secondary in Week 17 after they sent a starting cornerback to injured reserve Saturday afternoon.
The roster move a couple of days after the Packers announced star cornerback Jaire Alexander would be suspended for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Alexander played his first game against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday since Nov. 5, due to a nagging back injury.

Another cornerback who has missed substantial time this season due to injury, Eric Stokes, suffered a hamstring injury against the Panthers. According to a statement by the Packers, Stokes has been placed on injured reserve, effectively ending his season.

The Packers already have other question marks for Sunday in the secondary. Safety Darnell Savage is questionable to play the Minnesota Vikings due to a shoulder injury.
Fortunately for the Packers, they’re playing a Minnesota Vikings team that is having quarterback issues after losing Kirk Cousins for the season. The Vikings plan to start Jaren Hall against the Packers.
