The Miami Dolphins’ De’Von Achane continues to take football by storm during his rookie campaign. The human highlight reel became the first player in the Super Bowl era to score at least seven touchdowns in his first four career games, per NFL Research. The Giants’ Bill Pachal scored eight times in his first four games of the 1943 season, but the fullback did it in the pre-Super Bowl era. Paschal led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in 1943 and 1944, accumulating 19 during that span.

De’Von Achane Running Wild
Despite seeing limited action, De’Von Achane has been a star for the Dolphins this season. Achane was inactive for the Dolphins’ Week 1 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers and received just one rush attempt for five yards in Week 2. However, he exploded on the scene in Week 3 against Denver, taking 18 carries for 203 yards and two scores against the Broncos. The Texas A&M product added four receptions for 30 yards and two scores in his team’s 70-20 bludgeoning of Denver. Achane’s production leaked into the following Sunday, going for 101 rushing yards and two scores on eight attempts. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa found the five-foot-eight running back three times for 19 yards.
De’Von Achane made history with his performance on Sunday. The 21-year-old eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the third consecutive week, going for 151 yards and one score on eleven attempts. The big play came in the second quarter when the 188-pound back scampered for a 76-yard touchdown to make the score 14-0 in favor of Miami. He caught his lone target for 14 yards.
The Miami Dolphins Running Back Room
Achane shared the backfield with Raheem Mostert, Salvon Ahmed, and Jeff Wilson Jr. However, Ahmed was a healthy scratch on Sunday, suggesting that Achane has taken his snap share. Meanwhile, Wilson continues to nurse a rib injury and has yet to debut this season. However, the former San Francisco 49er ran for 860 yards on 4.9 yards per rush attempt in 2022. Mostert has been the biggest threat to Achane getting a more significant workload. The 31-year-old has been fantastic this season, taking 48 rush attempts for 249 yards and six scores.
The Miami Dolphins face the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. Carolina is 26th in rush defense, allowing 141 rushing yards per game.
