Detroit Lions General Manager, Brad Holmes recently shared his opinions on the Green Packers proposing a ban on the ‘tush push’ move made famous by the Philadelphia Eagles. The ‘tush push’ was not only made famous by the Eagles but pretty much invented by them. Even though many other teams tried to replicate it in their games, they were not able to become as effective at it as the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the ‘tush push’ move, the quarterback receives the ball and is pushed by other players through the defensive line. The Philadelphia Eagles, although known for their prowess in their plays on the field, are also known for this particular move. The Green Bay Packers are reportedly proposing a ban on this move in the NFL, even if it is actually not breaking any rules of the sport.
“#Lions GM Brad Holmes on the #Packers’ proposal to ban the tush-push: “The Eagles came up with it. They’re effective at it. They’re really good at it. So. if you don’t like it, stop it. That’s our stance on it. Other teams have tried it and have not been as effective.” Detroit Lions GM, Brad Holmes said, according to Ari Meirov from The 33rd Team.

The Detroit Lions impressed much in the previous NFL season, finishing at the top of the NFC North after winning 15 games and losing two. The Lions finished one spot above the second-ranked Minnesota Vikings, who finished 14-3.
The Lions managed to make it to the NFL Divisional Round and played against the Washington Commanders. However, Detroit’s offense was subpar during that game, and the team lost 45-31, with their quarterback Jared Goff completing 23 passes out of 40 attempts for 313 yards.

Detroit Lions Still Undecided On Jameson Williams’ Fifth-Year Option
For the upcoming NFL season, the Detroit Lions still have to make a number of crucial decisions. One of them will be on to pick up or not pick up wide receiver Jameson Williams’ fifth-year option.

Jameson Williams has been playing for the Detroit Lions since 2022, after being selected by the team as the 12th pick in the very first round of the draft. Before playing for the Lions in the NFL, Williams played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2019 to 2020, and then for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 season. In the previous NFL season, Williams managed 58 receptions for 1,001 yards, scoring seven touchdowns.
