Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have had an up-and-down offseason. The ups have come from the transfer portal and Coach Prime has done it again. Former Florida State linebacker DJ Lundy announced on social media that is has committed to the Buffaloes.

Deion Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes Land LB DJ Lundy
Lundy had a very productive year in 2023 for the Seminoles. He posted 54 tackles, six of which were for a loss and two sacks. Interestingly enough, Lundy was also used in some offensive packages and had two total touchdowns. It makes him just the sixth player in college football history to have one rushing touchdown, one receiving touchdown, and 40 tackles in a season. Lundy has one year of eligibility remaining and provides an instant boost to the Buffaloes.
Portal Over Recruiting
It is clear that Sanders is prioritizing the transfer portal over the recruiting trail. Much has been made about the low amount of high school players that signed at the end of the year. However, the 2024 transfer portal class is one of the best in the nation. In the past, this hasn’t been the way to build a team but this is a new college football landscape. Building a program might look different and new ideas might work.
Can the Buffaloes rebound in 2024? They definitely have a lot of talent coming in but it will be interesting to see whether that translates to more wins when the program moves to the Big 12 in 2024.
