The San Francisco 49ers revealed the status of star wide receiver Deebo Samuel on Friday afternoon. Samuel missed much of the 49er’s win over the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round due to a shoulder injury.
Samuel finished with two catches for 24 yards against the Packers.
Deebo Samuel’s status was up in the air this week
The 49ers were unsure if Samuel could play in the NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions earlier this week. Samuel did not practice for the 49ers on Wednesday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Samuel’s shoulder hurt on Wednesday. Samuel did return to practice Thursday.
The San Francisco 49ers take Samuel off the injury report
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, Shanahan said Samuel was taken off the injury report on Friday. He will start against the Lions.

Having Samuel back in the lineup will be a huge boost to the 49ers’ offense and quarterback Brock Purdy. Samuel caught 60 passes for 892 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season.
