The San Francisco 49ers received an update on Deebo Samuel Monday morning. The star wide receiver suffered a shoulder injury in the first half of the 49ers’ win over the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round. Samuel’s absence had a major impact on most of the game.
The San Francisco 49ers are unsure when Deebo Samuel can play
Samuel had medical testing done on Sunday to determine the extent of his injuries. Per Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Samuel has no fracture in the shoulder.
“My understanding is, there’s no fracture in the shoulder of Deebo Samuel, which is good news, Rapoport said. “As far as the status going forward, that still remains up in the air. Kyle Shanahan will talk to reporters later today, but they believe this is not a major injury. Samuel got to work on rehab right after the injury happened and was telling people that he thinks he will be okay.”

Brock Purdy needs his number-one wide receiver
The 49ers will hope Samuel can return to play the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy struggled to move the ball against the Packers without one of his most reliable targets on the field Saturday night.
