The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the top teams that people have been looking at before the NFL Trade Deadline as people are looking to see if wide receiver Davante Adams will be on the move. However, as we are less than four hours away from the deadline, it seems like unless a team swoops in with an unbelievable offer, Adams is going to remain with the Raiders for the remainder of the season.
Adam Schefter appeared on ESPN’s First Take and discussed the possibility of Davante Adams being traded and he was told “not a chance in hell”.
Asked one person close to the situation what the chances were that the Raiders would trade Pro Bowl WR Davante Adams before today’s 4 pm ET deadline: “Not a chance in hell.” pic.twitter.com/Cifq9hhqc5

This would be an interesting situation as Adams has seemingly shown that he would like a new change of scenery over the last few weeks. He has not had numbers reminiscent of former seasons as he has 47 catches on 78 targets for 539 yards (11.5 yards per reception) with three receiving touchdowns this season. Last night against the Detroit Lions, he had one catch on seven targets for only 11 yards, the third time since joining the Raiders he has had 11 or fewer receiving yards in a game.
Why aren’t the Las Vegas Raiders trading Davante Adams?
Sitting at 3-5 and the hopes for a playoff spot slipping through their fingers, the Raiders are struggling to have any sense of hope for 2023. Adams is under contract for potentially 1.5 more seasons before getting into $35 million per season territory. He is only paid $16.89 million in 2024 and is one of the biggest bargains in the NFL.
However, the Raiders continue to squander their opportunities to move him as he is not going to have more value than this. Adams has publicly said he joined the Raiders because of Derek Carr and now that Carr is gone and Jimmy Garoppolo is the quarterback, things are not great.
If you were to look at his social media, his latest two liked posts are complaining about the Raiders and a post highlighting the recovery of Aaron Rodgers. He seems to be disgruntled and could net a strong return (at least a first-round pick and some) for a team desperate for a wide receiver.
Are teams trying to get Davante Adams out of Las Vegas?
The answer is yes. Especially with the clock ticking, teams are calling to see the availability of a disgruntled superstar. A trade for Davante Adams would help the Raiders out for the future but general manager Dave Ziegler seems to be wanting to keep him and try to continue being in mediocrity with the 22nd-ranked passing attack despite having a superstar out wide.
