When the Las Vegas Raiders traded for Davante Adams, they had visions of a high-powered offense centered around the receiver. Now, the offense seems to have trouble getting him the ball. Adams only caught one pass for 11 yards during Monday night’s loss. He was targeted seven times but many of those balls were uncatchable. After the game, Adams was speechless.
Las Vegas Raiders Davante Adams Speechless
“I don’t know what to say at this moment. I truly don’t,” Adams said after the game. Adams didn’t have a catch in the first half but despite how bad they had played, the game was still within reach. Adams saw more targets in the second half but a key drop and some uncatchable balls left him with an underwhelming stat line. Adams wants to compete for titles and the Raiders look to be going in the opposite direction. Fans have been clamoring for the Raiders to trade Adams but at this point, they seem unwilling.
Should They Trade Him?
The team can probably get good value for him. Adams has proven that he can still be one of the premiere receivers in the league. Why the unwillingness? Teams are historically not engaged in midseason trades in the NFL. With how quickly things can change in the NFL, the Raiders are a small win streak away from being back in the playoff picture. While this seems unlikely, teams hold onto hope for a long time.
I think if it were up to Davante Adams, he would have the Las Vegas Raiders trade him. He came to play with Derek Carr and compete for Super Bowls. Carr is now in New Orleans and this team seems to be headed in the wrong direction.
