Despite falling to the Buffalo Bills in a 31-10 blowout, the Dallas Cowboys were still able to secure their spot in the postseason on Sunday.
Dallas has done a remarkable job of getting themselves in a position to clinch a playoff berth in Week 15, but the fact that it came in a loss is far from an ideal scenario for the Cowboys and their title aspirations this season.
Just ask Dak Prescott.
Dak Prescott Reacts to Dallas Cowboys Securing Postseason Berth
When asked to comment on his team’s noteworthy achievement, Cowboys superstar quarterback Dak Prescott had a brutally honest response:
“I don’t care,” said Prescott, via Timm Hamm of SI. “to be honest.”
It’s not that Prescott doesn’t care about the playoffs. That’s not it. However, the fact that the Cowboys proved no match to the Bills on Sunday clearly left a bitter taste in the QB’s mouth.
Dallas has three more games ahead, and Prescott wants to take advantage of these contests to make sure that his team is ready for the postseason.
“These next couple of weeks are about trying to figure out that difference and close the gap,” he said (h/t Garrett Podell of CBS Sports).
Road Woes
Sunday’s loss marked another road loss for the Cowboys, which has been their Achilles heel this season. Head coach Mike McCarthy did not hesitate to call a spade a spade after his team’s forgettable performance in Buffalo:
“We did not play well,” McCarthy said. “There’s just too big of a gap in (our play on the road). We have to be much better on the road.”
Dallas star LB Micah Parsons echoed his coach’s thoughts on the defeat:
“We’ve got to get better on the road, and we’ve got to be road warriors throughout the playoffs now because of this,” Parsons said. “So, it doesn’t matter unless we get better on the road.”
In their final three games of the season, the Cowboys play twice on the road. They take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 16 followed by a regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders.
