Terry McLaurin has seen a revolving door of quarterbacks in his time with the Washington Commanders. He is hoping that Sam Howell is the long term answer. The quarterback out of North Carolina has been tabbed as the starter all offseason and everyone seems to be in favor of it including McLaurin. In a recent interview, McLaurin praised Howell’s leadership during offseason practices.

Terry McLaurin Praises Quarterback Sam Howell
McLaurin is liking what he is seeing out of the second year quarterback. “He’s taken the bull by the horns, and he’s really led us a lot this offseason,” McLaurin said via Commanders.com. Howell was the third quarterback behind Caron Wentz and Taylor Heinicke last season but did get a chance in week 18 against the Cowboys. Now, he seems to be the undisputed starter in Washington.

Could Washington Surprise Some People?
The Washington offense could be very scary if Howell can put it all together. McLaurin has accumulated 4,281 receiving yards in four NFL seasons. Considering the quarterbacks he has had, this is a huge accomplishment. Jahan Dotson is looking for a year two leap and the running game has some solid pieces. While they still may be in the NFC East basement one thing is for sure. This team is going to be a tough out and could play spoiler late in the season if a team is caught napping.
Washington Commanders fans have to be happy about what they are hearing about Sam Howell. If Terry McLaurin is happy that is also good news. The team should be trying to do everything they can to keep him in house as he is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the game.
