Colorado football is undefeated no more. On Sunday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers ran all over the Colorado Buffaloes while getting constant pressure on CU star quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Once the dust settled, the scoreboard read 28-10 in favor of Nebraska. The former Pac-12 team hired head coach Deion Sanders before the 2022 season, bringing the school massive publicity. Since the hire, every move has been overplayed, while fans place every word in every quote under a microscope.
With Colorado football becoming one of the country’s most fascinating and talked about teams overnight, Sanders and company gained ample critics, doubters, and, in some cases, extreme haters. However, one Colorado staffer claims that fans went too far following Saturday’s loss in front of a soldout Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the team being greeted with racial slurs postgame.
Colorado Football Assistant Blast Racist Nebraska Fans
According to Colorado football Director of Player Personnel Corey Phillips:
Losing is one thing. The use of the N-word towards our staff and kids ain’t a good look. Please be lucky my father told me to prepare myself not to respond! My man that let that word come flying out of your mouth, may God cover your troubled heart. I STILL BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM
Phillips hurled a stunning accusation towards Nebraska fans following Saturday’s blowout loss, claiming he, the team’s staff, and players were called the ‘N-word.’ Phillips reiterated that his upbringing kept him from making a scene and retaliating. Instead, he wished that the fan using the distasteful and foul language find help.
Colorado football struggled in last night’s tilt, totaling 16 rushing yards, while quarterback Shedeur Sanders was the victim of six sacks. Meanwhile, Nebraska rushed for 149 yards while playing turnover-free football. Colorado will visit in-state rival Colorado State next Saturday.
