Like most weekends, all eyes were on the ever-polarizing Colorado football program. On Saturday, they traveled to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln to face off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, also spotting a 1-0 record. Despite many pundits and ESPN talking heads claiming the Colorado Buffaloes duo of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter deserve consideration for being the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Big 12 team entered as seven-point underdogs.
Nebraska routed Colorado from the first whistle, jumping out to a significant 14-0 lead in the game’s first six minutes and eventually winning 28-10. With quarterback Shedeur Sanders leaving the contest late, fans were quick to clown the Colorado Buffaloes after an abysmal performance on national television.
College Football Fans Blast Colorado Football After Dreadful Showing
Many fans took the high road when discussing Colorado football’s downfall on Saturday against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, including JustinHillSports:
The Colorado Buffaloes’ off-season main strategy should have been on developing an offensive line for Shedeur Sanders. Nebraska is making the game of football look so easy that while watching a blitz will happen.
However, many other fans did not hold back when trying to clown college football’s most talked about team. For the 60-minute tilt, Nebraska dominated the competition, tallying six sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery. Meanwhile, Nebraska star freshman passer Dylan Raiola went 23-of-30 for 185 yards while playing turnover-free football and never becoming a sack victim. Conversely, Shedeur Sanders went 23-of-38 for 244 yards, a score, and a pick while leaving the game late with a presumed injury.
Many fans were awaiting the collapse of Colorado football, and Saturday’s blowout loss indicated potentially the first misstep for Deion Sanders and company this season. College football fans flooded Twitter following the defeat, annihilating Sanders and the Buffs after the embarring defeat:
