According to USA Today, the Colorado Buffaloes have self-reported some recruiting violations that happened over the first year of coach Deion Sanders’ tenure. In total, there were 11 minor violations that the program reported and there is not expected to be any issues in terms of suspensions or scholarships taken away due to the infractions.
One violation occurred on May 30 as Colorado hosted a post-graduate camp for high school seniors and transfer portal players. However, seven members in attendance were not “active” in the transfer portal. Another violation happened before the game against the Stanford Cardinal where a recruit on an unofficial visit reportedly ran on the field with the team before the game.
Additionally, the Colorado Buffaloes had other social media infractions gameday simulation violations and transfer portal issues. However, it seems like there will be no major discipline issued from this.
What should we expect out of the Colorado Buffaloes in 2024?
Coach Deion Sanders has displayed that he can turn around a program quickly. The Buffs have some major flaws on the offensive line and defensively and through recruiting and the transfer portal have really begun to fix the issues. They were able to recruit the top offensive tackle prospect in Jordan Seaton and continue to make changes throughout the roster.
The Buffaloes are preparing for their first season as part of the Big 12 Conference and they should be able to be bowl eligible with a minimum of six wins to continue improving. It will be interesting to see what the Buffs are able to do going forward with Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter leading the way for coach Deion Sanders.
