The AP Poll heading into Week 12 of the college football season has been released and the top eight spots have not shifted. However, there still were a lot of things that the AP voters decided that make things interesting.
Today, we are going to take a dive into the AP Poll and discuss what were the biggest things the voters made public.
What was the final Week 12 AP Poll?
The AP Poll for Week 12 of the college football season came out on Sunday afternoon and below is the list in its entirety:
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Michigan Wolverines
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Florida State Seminoles
- Washington Huskies
- Oregon Ducks
- Texas Longhorns
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Louisville Cardinals
- Oregon State Beavers
- Missouri Tigers
- Penn State Nittany Lions
- Ole Miss Rebels
- Oklahoma Sooners
- LSU Tigers
- Utah Utes
- Tulane Green Wave
- James Madison Dukes
- Arizona Wildcats
- Notre Dame Fighting Irish
- Tennessee Volunteers
- North Carolina Tar Heels
- Kansas State Wildcats
- Oklahoma State Cowboys
- Liberty Flames
This is going to ruffle a few feathers as the Oklahoma State Cowboys hang onto being ranked while teams like the Liberty Flames and Kansas State Wildcats were able to crack the AP Poll after not being ranked last week.
What about the College Football Playoff?
This ranking does not tell us anything about the College Football Playoff as the College Football Playoff committee releases its own rankings on Tuesday nights. However, it looks like the teams are going to remain the same as there were no movements in the top eight spots.
What team should be mad about the AP Poll?
Every fan base is going to have issues with the AP Poll but one team that did not move that should have climbed was the Alabama Crimson Tide. Currently sitting in eighth place, the Crimson Tide were able to defeat the Kentucky Wildcats on the road 49-21. The team ahead of them, the Texas Longhorns, barely held onto a 29-26 road win over an unranked TCU Horned Frogs.
This Alabama team is hot and are beginning to look like the program that everyone expected them to be. It seems that if they want to move in the standings, they are going to need to win the SEC Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs.
