The Cincinnati Bengals need a safety replacement
The Cincinnati Bengals lost their All-Pro safety this week in free agency. Jessie Bates signed a deal with the Atlanta Falcons. The Bengals are looking for options to replace Bates and Vonn Bell this week. They plan to visit with a safety who has experience on a Super Bowl-winning team.
According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Bengals will host Los Angeles Rams safety Nick Scott on a free-agent visit Thursday. Scott recorded two interceptions for the Rams last season.
The #Bengals are hosting S Nick Scott on a free-agent visit today, sources say. Scott had 86 tackles and 2 INTs in 16 starts with the #Rams this past season. Cincy lost Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell in free agency, so they’re looking to restock at the position.

Bates will be hard for the Bengals to replace. He recorded four interceptions for the team in 2022. Scott could be an intriguing option for the Bengals next season. The former 2019 seventh-round selection by the Rams was on the Super Bowl LVII team a year ago. Scott helped the Rams make the Super Bowl with a postseason interception of Tom Brady. He earned the starting job at safety for the 2022 season.
