San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey: Limited Practice Participant in Preparation for MNF
The star running back suffered an oblique injury in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns and was considered questionable heading into Week 7 after popping up on the injury report. McCaffrey missed most of last Sunday’s loss against Cleveland, registering 11 carries for 43 yards and no scores before his departure. However, the Stanford product also recorded three catches for nine yards and a touchdown. Jordan Mason and Elijah Mitchell took over the backfield in his absence, taking seven carries for 24 yards and a score while receiving no targets in the passing game.
McCaffrey has now scored in 15th straight games. With a touchdown on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings, McCaffrey would break a tie with fellow running backs John Riggins and O.J. Simpson for most consecutive games with a score.
