The Buffalo Bills, like every other NFL team, must report any injuries to rostered players and non-participants in practice. When it came to newly acquired cornerback Rasul Douglas, he isn’t injured at all despite not practicing on Wednesday. On the team’s official injury report, Douglas’ injury is listed as “Just got here,” an excuse that most people would love to use in the workplace.

However, Buffalo didn’t lie one bit, as Douglas was picked up by the Bills right before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. The Buffalo Bills gave up a 2024 third-round draft pick for Douglas and a 2024 fifth-rounder. Buffalo’s defense has had a ton of injuries, to players that have been there for more than a day, so Douglas is a much-welcomed addition to the team.
Along with the rest of this season, Rasul Douglas is under contract with the Bills next year. He brings 15 career interceptions with him to the AFC East franchise, including nine picks split between the previous two seasons. He’s expected to slot into a starting spot immediately.
What’s Next for the Buffalo Bills Defense
Sitting at 5-3, one game behind the Miami Dolphins in the division, the Buffalo Bills have a playoff rematch with the Bengals up next. Cincinnati’s offense put up 27 points in that game, a season-ending loss at home. This year’s Buffalo defense is only allowing 17.0 points per game (3rd in the NFL), so they have to feel good about getting revenge on Sunday. Rasul Douglas may have “Just got here,” but he’s expected to contribute toward Buffalo’s desired championship run, beginning with this battle.
