Unlike most players, Stefon Diggs apparently isn’t indifferent when it comes to what fans wager on him. According to a recent social media post, he even feels bad when he believes that he harms fantasy teams or parlays. Diggs himself confirmed years ago that he’s a great guy, but this is just a cherry on top.
I ain’t going lie. I do be feeling a lil bad when I f*** up yaw parlay… or fantasy
— DIGGS (@stefondiggs) October 23, 2023
One look at the replies shows a ton of people showing Diggs love for this tweet. Many people called him a king, while the official DraftKings Sportsbook account called him “the realest.” This stance from the Buffalo pass catcher is far from the normal sentiment found around the league.
Frankly, players should not care about anyone’s fantasy team (besides their own, maybe), or bets. When NFL players suit up, winning should be the only mission on their minds. Just as they should not care about bettors, fans should not attack them online for not winning their bets or fantasy games.
Dive Into the Numbers: Does Stefon Diggs Deliver?
The Buffalo Bills are a pass-happy team, and Stefon Diggs is the man catching most of the passes. Entering Week 8, Diggs is fourth in the NFL with 678 receiving yards. He also has the second-most receptions, 55, and the second-most receiving scores, six. Diggs reached 100 yards in five of Buffalo’s first seven games, so it’s pretty safe to say that he comes through.
2023 is keeping in line with Stefon Diggs’ career track record. He’s on pace for a sixth consecutive 1,000-yard season. Along with that, Diggs should reach 100 catches for the fourth year in a row and double-digit touchdowns for the third straight campaign. There is little reason to complain about Diggs ruining a fantasy team.
What About the Buffalo Bills?
Diggs’ team hasn’t been as reliable as most people want through seven games. They’re only 4-3 and have three straight losses against the spread. In the last two weeks, Buffalo scraped by the last-place Giants before losing to the last-place Patriots.
The Bills play again this Thursday, and it’s a game that they need to win. Stefon Diggs has played his part. Will the rest of the team keep up?
