The Buffalo Bills once again took a heartbreaking loss in the postseason to the Kansas City Chiefs which has raised some big questions about the team’s future. One of the issues Buffalo is looking to address is keeping star wide receiver Stefon Diggs on the team for the foreseeable future. However, it looks like the Bills organization might be preparing for the opposite as a new report came out that the team is doing something that nobody saw coming.
Stefon Diggs Contract
According to NFL analyst Peter King, Buffalo is expected to do a major reconstruction of Diggs’ large contract, and the star receiver will not be happy about it. There have been several rumors about the receiver possibly wanting out of Buffalo after some turmoil in the locker room, which led many analysts to speculate Diggs might be on a new squad soon. However, as the season went on and the team began to perform much better, these rumors started to quiet down, and the receiver was expected to be with the team long-term.

Buffalo Bills Considering Moving On
Diggs has been amongst the most elite receivers in the league since entering the NFL in 2015. Before coming to Buffalo, the star receiver played with the Minnesota Vikings from 2015 to 2019 and was able to progressively get better every year. Since he joined the Bills, he has gone for over 1,000 yards receiving every year, making him one of the best in the NFL.
According to King, the receiver is due for a cap number of $27.9 million next season, which seems a bit excessive for someone who did not have one 100-yard-plus game in 13 straight games. Even though he started 2023 hot, Diggs’ production declined immensely, which is what led to the speculation of Buffalo possibly looking to deal away the receiver. Diggs is also 30 years old now, so he will be quickly entering the ending stages of his career, which can lead to him being dealt to a new team.
Could Diggs Be Dealt To A New Team?
While nothing has been set in stone just yet, it seems like Diggs going to a new team as soon as this offseason is becoming increasingly more likely. However, if the receiver is fine with the team restructuring his contract and possibly taking less money, he will most likely finish his career with the Bills. Do you think Diggs will be on a new team in 2024, or will he and the Bills organization come to an agreement to keep him with the Bills?
