The Cleveland Browns have struggled intensely this season on the offensive side of the ball. The largest reason by far has been the nightmare injuries on that side of the ball including starting quarterback Deshaun Watson and superstar running back Nick Chubb. While fans came into this season expecting a dynamic play action threat, what they have gotten at this point in the season is a backup-filled snooze fest.
Browns Receiver returns to the lineup
As of Friday afternoon, Cleveland has announced that starting wide receiver Amari Cooper is questionable to play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cooper recently cleared the concussion protocol and the only lingering issue has been a rib injury he suffered last week.
Cleveland traded for Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys in the 2022 offseason and have yet to utilize him as the elite aerial threat they were expecting. Cooper was drafted by the Raiders with the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Alabama and has become one of the best triple threat receivers in the game.
Cooper would be a huge asset for the Browns this week as they struggle to decide whether to start former super bowl Champion Joe Flacco or rookie backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson at the quarterback position. Regardless of who Cleveland starts, an aerial threat like Cooper would be a huge help to going over the top of the Jaguars terrific defensive front seven.
