The Kansas City Chiefs may not have won Super Bowl LVIII in the most convincing fashion, but there are instances when the ends justify the means. After the Chiefs have established their dynasty with their third Super Bowl ring in five years, many have forgotten about the time Travis Kelce blew up on Andy Reid’s face.
It didn’t provide the best look for the tight end, but both player and coach insisted that there’s no bad blood between the two of them. However, not everyone was happy to swipe the issue under the rug. An NFL legend happily talked trash towards Taylor Swift’s boyfriend for acting like a brat on the field.
Brett Favre berates Travis Kelce’s tantrum on the Kansas City Chiefs sideline
The Spun’s Kameron Duncan wrote about the Super Bowl champion’s thoughts on the entire ordeal. Favre expressed his thoughts on the drama during an episode of Fearless with Jason Whitlock.
The former Green Bay Packers QB understands that Kelce was emotionally charged, but he was in no business to act like that in public:
“Emotions play a big part of it, and sometimes they get the best of you, and that’s what happened there,” Favre said about Kelce’s outburst during the first half.
“It just was the biggest stage in the football world and he does that to arguably, maybe the greatest coach in history. You just can’t do that.”
Kelce somewhat agreed with him when he talked about the moment in the latest New Heights episode:
“I can’t get that fired up to the point when I’m bumping coach and getting him off guard,” Kelce told his brother Jason on the New Heights podcast.
“I’m a passionate guy, I love coach Reid. Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him, how much I love to be a product of his coaching career.
I just wanted to let him know that I wanted this thing and that he can put it on me and I got him.”
Travis Kelce did well for the Chiefs during the game, completing 10 catches for 93 yards to lead all eligible receivers. Him, Favre, and the rest of the NFL hopes that he won’t have any more outbursts in the future.
