Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has exited the game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a leg injury. Kelce was running with the ball when he slipped and landed awkwardly when trying to pivot, causing him to go to the sideline under his own power. He seemed to be disappointed once he got to the sideline as he threw his helmet on the ground and then was taken to the locker room just before halftime.

Travis Kelce Injury
This would be a devastating loss for the Chiefs as Kelce is one of if not their best player besides quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The star tight end has amounted to 155 yards receiving and two touchdowns for his team this season. He missed the first game against the Detroit Lions in week one, which resulted in Kansas City losing 21-20.
The Kansas City Chiefs are currently tied with the Minnesota Vikings 13-13 going into halftime. It will be interesting to see any updates on Kelce’s leg injury and if it is more serious than it is depicted. The NFL world and Taylor Swift fans are certainly crossing their fingers hoping that the injury is just a cramp or something not as serious.
UPDATE: He has returned to the game on the second drive of the third quarter. He suffered a low-ankle sprain.
What it Means For the Chiefs
If the star tight end is not able to return, it would certainly be much more difficult for Kansas City to compete in this already tight game. This is an ongoing situation and will continue to be updated throughout the game pending if Kelce will return to play in this matchup.
