The New York Giants have had a roller coaster season. They started the year 2-8 and have won their last three games since then. Now, they get some good news heading into their Week 15 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. One of their most explosive weapons has returned to practice.
TE Darren Waller Comes Off of Injured Reserve
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, New York Giants TE Darren Waller has had his practice window open coming off of injured reserve. As a result, he is more than likely going to play in Week 15 against the Saints. This means that the Giants will get their starting TE back just in time to potentially make a playoff run.
Waller suffered a hamstring injury in Week 8 against the New York Jets. The Giants suffered multiple injuries in that game and ended up having a heartbreaking loss.
What This Means for the New York Giants
The New York Giants will likely have one of their best offensive weapons available for Sunday’s game. They could use any boost possible for their offense considering the numbers that the Giants have put up this season. Just how bad has it been?
The Giants rank last in the NFL in passing yards per game. On top of this, the Giants rank 31st in points per game.
So, what does Waller bring to the table? He has 384 receiving yards and a touchdown reception in eight games this season. Throughout his career, Waller has 3,956 receiving yards and 20 touchdown receptions in 82 games.
Waller has not had a chance to play with QB Tommy DeVito. He made his debut with the New York Giants shortly after Waller got hurt. Now, DeVito gets an additional offensive weapon to try to help continue his impressive play.
