The next preseason award list that was announced was the Biletnikoff Award watch list. Kayshon Boutte was selected as one of the many wide receivers around the country to make the list. Boutte continues his appearance on the preseason award watch lists. Earlier this week he was selected to the Maxwell Award watch list.

Boutte will look to get back to form after suffering an ankle injury during the Kentucky game that shortened his 2021 season. There was a stretch where no player in the FBS has more total receiving yards (967), yards after contact (208), yards after the catch (493) and receiving touchdowns (13) than Boutte. He showed what he could do as soon as he stepped on campus. The star wideout hauled in 527 yards and four touchdowns during the back-end of the 2020 season.
Boutte is fully recovered from the ankle injury and is expected to have a big junior year for the Tigers’ offense heading into 2022. The ongoing quarterback battle shouldn’t have that much of a impact on Boutte’s production. Boutte was able to post big numbers with multiple quarterbacks under center.
The Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football’s outstanding receiver. Boutte was listed on the 2021 preseason watch list for the award. He was on pace to compete for the award before suffering an injury midseason. The former Tigers to win the award include Josh Reed and Ja’Marr Chase.
