Georgia has been the best school in college football for the past three seasons, winning back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022. It was a win away from the playoffs in 2023 but fell to Alabama in the SEC title game.
Georgia Saw A Big Commitment Leave Earlier This Year
Even a school like Georgia, which has had so much success, sees players de-committing from their program. They saw one of the best defensive backs in the 2025 class, Tae Harris, decommit in January after being committed there since July of 2023.
Harris Will Be Heading To Clemson
Harris is a four-star recruit and is ranked 11th best safety in 2025, according to 247sports.com.
Harris is 6’0, 195 pounds, and is from Cedartown, Georgia, but will not stay in the state to play his college football.
According to Hayes Fawcett from On3.com, Harris committed to Clemson on Monday.
Clemson’s head coach, Dabo Swinney, has received a lot of heat the past few years for not liking NIL and not going into the transfer portal to bring in players, but he can still attract very high-rated recruits out of high school. He was able to steal a kid from the state of Georgia who was committed to the Bulldogs, which made him flip to Clemson.
Clemson is going to a big season in 2024 after missing the playoffs the last three years, and now, with the playoffs expanded to 12 teams, there is no way they can’t make it there this season. There is no excuse for Clemson not to be part of the playoffs, and Swinney needs to get it done.
